1. Delete or Request Deletion of Your Account
Daora app users may delete or request deletion of their account in either of the following ways:
- In the Daora app by going to Account Settings → Delete Account and following the prompts shown in the app.
- By contacting Daora app support at appsupport@sqip.ninja from the email address associated with the account when possible.
SQIP LLC is Daora’s app support and technology partner. App account deletion and technical support requests sent to appsupport@sqip.ninja are handled as Daora app support requests.
The in-app deletion process may require confirmation steps, including typing a final verification word or phrase to confirm the request. If a user cannot access the app, no longer has the app installed, or prefers to request deletion outside the app, the user may contact app support by email.
Daora or SQIP LLC may require verification before processing a deletion request. This may include verifying account ownership, email ownership, home or property authority, administrator authority, or other information needed to prevent unauthorized deletion.
2. What Account Deletion Does
Deleting an account may remove the user’s access to the assigned home, property, private customer environment, or WLED lighting-control installation.
Account deletion may remove, deactivate, or anonymize information associated with the user’s account, such as account access, email-based login access, authentication records associated with the account, home or property assignment for that account, user role or access level, and user-specific app settings where applicable.
3. What Account Deletion May Not Delete
Deleting an individual account may not delete shared home, property, lighting, preset, playlist, configuration, diagnostic, or device-control data that belongs to another user, homeowner, customer, Daora, or an authorized administrator.
For example, deleting one family member’s account may remove that family member’s access, but it may not delete the home’s shared lighting setup, shared presets, device configuration, administrator records, security logs, or other information needed by the homeowner, customer, Daora, or authorized administrator.
4. Records Daora May Retain
After an account deletion request is submitted, Daora may delete, deactivate, anonymize, or retain information depending on the type of information, the reason it was collected, and applicable legal, security, backup, audit, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, customer-support, or contractual requirements.
Daora may retain limited records after deletion when reasonably necessary to confirm that the deletion request was processed, prevent fraud or unauthorized access, maintain security logs, comply with legal or audit obligations, resolve disputes, protect Daora and others, maintain backup integrity for a limited period, or preserve shared home, property, device, lighting, or configuration data that does not belong solely to the deleted account.
Retained records may be processed through Daora-controlled systems, SQIP LLC support systems, in-house hosting, or service providers such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Akamai, or other infrastructure providers, where needed for security, backup, support, audit, legal, or operational purposes.
5. Children, Minors, and Authorized Adults
If the account is used by a child or minor, a parent, legal guardian, homeowner, customer administrator, Daora administrator, or other authorized adult may request review, correction, deletion, deactivation, or access changes.
Daora or SQIP LLC may require verification of identity and authority before processing the request.
